Para Brasileirinhos
Felicia Jennings-Winterle, 2016 Lalau and Laurabeatriz are the authors of the collection Brasileirinhos. Initially produced by the nostalgic publisher Cosac Naify, part of this beautiful work are today with Companhia das Letras. The collection celebrates the biodiversity of Brazil bringing a poem for each the animals in danger of extinction featured. Para Brasileirinhos brings activities that were created to various ages and levels of proficiency in the Portuguese language so that PHL educators can use the original poem much further. Coleção Didática de Línguas de Herança: Contribuições de estudos e práticas de língua portuguesa
Volume 1 - Fundamentos e estudos (Collection Heritage Language Didactics: Contributions from studies and practices in Portuguese Language; Volume 1 - Foundations and studies) Felicia Jennings-Winterle This book is the first in a trilogy that will revisit the global, local and individual spaces of the context of studying heritage languages, concepts already introduced in the publication Portuguese as a Heritage Language: the philosophy of beginning, middle and end, co-organized by Maria Célia -Lima Hernandes (2015). The ethnographic observations done between 2015 and 2022, in addition to a map of educators and initiatives that teach Portuguese as a heritage language (PLH), update the trajectory of this field of studies and practices. In six chapters, we will see the transformations since the year 2000, in the United States (with a strong impact from studies already carried out in the country itself and in Canada, since the 1970s), until the insertion of specific PLH research and practices. |

It tells in a playful way the interpretation of three folk songs. In addition to bringing to life such a rich portion of Brazilian childhood culture, it is a tribute to the life of Paulo Alberto Marques Jennings, a doctor from Pará, who was carried away by the Amazon River in 2011.
