Our LANGUAGE UNITES us
In a few words
For a while now the urgency of more interaction and collaboration within teachers and researchers of different nationalities that speak Portuguese interests us. A way of doing that is diving in the pluricentricity of this language and the various cultures and identities that represent them around the world. Only theory, however, is not enough. What we really need is to deepen our knowledge regarding the concepts of language, identity, and culture, as well as the voices and knowledge of speakers, teachers, researchers, and writers of other variants, not only ours.
How does it work
First, theoretical concepts like the definition of pluricentricity, aspects of the history of the Portuguese Language and the Portuguese colonization around the world, as well as comparative analysis between the Grammars of the so called European Portuguese and the Portuguese of Brazil will be presented through video classes and various readings. Later, we will analyze Literature works from the various countries of the Community of Countries of Portuguese Language (CPLP), as well as teaching methods, produced on both Brazil and Portugal.
Target audience
Teachers of different specialties of the Portuguese Language (Heritage Language, World/Additional Language), as well as authors, illustrators and book editors.
